Our Vineyards

Most of our vineyards are more than 850 meters above sea level and are organic. We established these vineyards with Bernard Grandchamp, one of the world’s leading oenologists, looking for the best soil, climate and meteorological conditions and choosing only the best locations.

The first thing we did was to set up a meteorological station. We used the meteorological station to measure and study heat, humidity and the temperature beneath the soil. We analyzed the water and the soil.

We now have 70,000 vine stocks, and with new planting this will reach 100,000 within two or three years.

Selendi Vineyard

Our vineyard is in the Çay district of Moralılar Village, 10 kilometers from Akhisar. The vineyard occupies 1,5 hectares of a 3,2 hectare tract. There is a distance of 3 meters between the vine rows, and the vines in each row are spaced 1.5 meters apart. The Selendi vineyard allows us to produce between 5,000 and 7,000 bottles of wine, depending on weather conditions. The Selendi vineyard is on flat land, 70 meters above sea-level. We water our vineyard with the Netafim drip irrigation system, using water from our own deep well.

Sarnıç Vineyards

The second phase of our adventure began when we bought land here. We looked for the best place in the vicinity for growing grapes and we found Sarnıç. It is about 25-30 kilometers from the center of the Akhisar region. Because Sarnıç is 800 meters above sea-level, it offers a completely different environment for wine grapes. It is 6-6.5 degrees centigrade cooler than Selendi, and there is a greater variation between daytime and nighttime temperatures. The prevailing wind in the district allows for a longer maturation period, so the harvest continues until the end of September. We chose the grape varietal under the guidance of a French consultant, oenologist and vineyard expert, and imported the clones ourselves. We brought them here in refrigerated trucks and planted them. We registered the Sarnıç name.
In 2005 we planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes. In an area of 1,6 hectares of a 2,2 hectare tract, 444 vine saplings were planted in each decare. The space between rows and vine stocks is 1.5 meters.
We established another vineyard in 2007. It consists of a 5 hectare field. Here our grape varietals are Merlot, Mouvedre, Cinsault, Grenache, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. Here we planted 666 vine saplings in each decare, there is a 1 meter spacing between vines and the vine rows are 1.5 meters apart.
In 2009 we planted our third vineyard. Here we chose grape varietals with the production of white wine in mind. In each decare there are 666 Chardonnay and Viognier vine stocks.
This vineyard was planted in 2012. It is 850 meters above sea-level and consists of 4.8 hectares; the varietals are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and our first Turkish varietal, Narince. At Sarnıç IV, as at our other vineyards, we use organic farming methods and a drip irrigation system.
